Access Restrictions by Group in O365

Adding Access Restrictions Secure Cloud

There are two (2) ways to mitigate the risk of user access breaches.  The first is by setting an organization-wide setting in RULE SCOPES; the second is by setting ACCESS RESTRICTIONS BY GROUPS in the Services section. Access Restriction by Group is only available for O365 customers.  To create different access restrictions for your O365 Groups, follow the instructions below:

  1. Select SERVICES on the dashboard

  1. Next, click on the Icon of for O365

  1. Click ACCESS RESTRICTIONS in the dropdown menu

  1. Select ADD RESTRICTION

  1. A NEW ACCESS RESTRICTION Pop-Up will open
    1. You can choose to add restrictions to all protected users, or
    2. You can choose specific groups to have different restrictions for different departments in your org
  2. For Specific Groups
    1. Add the groups you want to add from the drop down

     7. Next Select if you want to restrict via IP or Country (a field will pop-up)

  1. If you select Country, a list will populate and you can add the countries
    1. If you select IP, a field will appear to enter the IP address

  1. Next select your automated remediation
    1. None
    2. Suspend
    3. Log In

     10. Finally select SAVE RESTRICTIONS

NOTE: Remember that you can cover ALL PROTECTED USERS AS WELL

                Simply follow steps for Country and/or IP Address
